Tech in the Commons is back for its fourth year to give nonprofits the tech tools they need to grow their impact, audience, fundraising and organizational efforts. The first session of 2020, in partnership with Comcast NBCUniversal, will focus on podcast development for nonprofit professionals and leaders! Podcasting —similar to social media and blogging — can be a crucial tool in a nonprofit's digital strategy. Founder of Messy.fm, Molly Beck, will teach you how to plan, create and grow your new podcast, while seamlessly integrating audio into your organization's content strategy. You'll leave with the content hacks and technical tools that you need to start a podcast that moves your KPIs forward. This workshop will cover: The podcasting landscape and the type of show formats that are popular now What works best for creating eye-catching show art How to plan out your Season 1 editorial arc How to find, engage, and keep listeners How to name your show and episodes descriptions to help with discoverability How to use recording and editing tools to make your audio sound great How being a guests on other podcasts can help raise your organization's profile, plus templates you can copy/paste when approaching other podcasts for cross-promotion Your community is waiting for you to launch a podcast — it's time to get started!
