Directed by Alex de Ronde (2017), this film focuses on his son, Tobias, who was born deaf. Using extensive home movie footage, viewers see a young boy become a man, as a deaf person within and outside of his family. At first, his father wondered if Tobias was destined for an isolated and disadvantaged life. But, looking back on the old videos of his now young-adult sons, one deaf, one hearing—the filmmaker considers the family's adaptations and growing appreciation for "deaf gain" along the way. Held in collaboration with the Wolf Humanities Center's 2019-2020 Forum on Kinship.

Included with Museum Admission.
